Payment Options

Telephone and online banking payments can be made through most major financial institutions. 

Tax Bills

• Search for us by typing "Asphodel" and select Asphodel-Norwood Taxes
• When setting up your tax account, please enter your assessment roll number as your account number

Utility (Water & Wastewater) Bills

• Search for us by typing "Asphodel" and select Asphodel-Norwood Utility
• When setting up your utility account, please enter your 6-digit utility customer number for your account number

Other General Invoices

• All invoices issues by the Township of Asphodel-Norwood can be paid through telephone or online banking
• Search for us by typing "Asphodel" and select Asphodel-Norwood Utility OR Asphodel-Norwood General
• When setting up to pay any Township issued invoice, please enter your 6-digit customer number for your account number

Payments can be made in person at the Asphodel-Norwood Municipal Office, located at 2357 County Road 45, Norwood.

We accept debit, cash and cheque (made payable to the Township of Asphodel-Norwood). 

Payments can be placed in our red drop box, located outside the front door of the Municipal Office at 2357 County Road 45, Norwood. If you have a payment stub, please include it with your deposit. 

This drop box is checked regularly during office hours. We do not recommend that you place cash in the drop box after business hours. 

We accept post-dated cheque through the mail. Please make cheques payable to the Township of Asphodel-Norwood. We do not recommend that you place cash in the mail.

Please note that payments must reach the Municipal Office by the due date to avoid interest or penalty charges.

The Township of Asphodel-Norwood offers pre-authorized payment plan for your tax bills. You can enroll in the plan by completing the Tax Pre-Authorized Payment (PAP) Application. Please ensure that the completed application and a void cheque are forwarded to the Municipal Office for processing.

Monthly PAP Plan 

• One (1) installment a month will be automatically withdrawn from your account from January through December, for a total of 12 installments
• Payments are due on the 15^th or end of each month (or the next business day if it falls on a weekend or holiday)
• To enroll in this plan your property taxes cannot be past-due or in arrears
• On this program you will not receive an interim tax bill

Installment PAP Plan

• Payments will be taken out on the installment due date (four (4) installments annually)
• You will receive a tax bill advising you of the amount coming out of your account and the due date
• Payments are made by automatic withdrawal from taxpayer's bank account
• To enroll in this plan your property taxes cannot be past-due or in arrears

Policy Details

• To discontinue your plan, a written request must be submitted at least ten business days before the next debit is scheduled
• An administrative fee of $45.00 will be applied to your account for payments not cleared by your financial institution. You must replace payment and fee before the next withdraw. If you have two (2) payments returned in one (1) year your PAP plan will be cancelled.
• After the final tax billing, your tax account will be adjusted to have your taxes paid in full by the year end. You will receive a letter indicating the adjusted amount.

If your taxes are paid by a mortgage company, promptly forward your tax bill to their office.

• An administrative fee of $45.00 will be applied to your account for payments not cleared by your financial institution. If payment is not replaced or payment is not cleared two (2) times, your PAP plan will be cancelled.
