The Asphodel-Norwood Ministerial Food Bank operates from the Town Hall, providing emergency food assistance to those in need within the community.

Food Bank Hours:

  • 2nd & 4th Thursdays of each month: 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
  • Preceding Wednesdays: 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm
    Note: For November and December 2024, food distribution will occur on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays due to holiday scheduling.

Community Care Norwood provides services that support independence and promote peace of mind for seniors, their families and adults with physical challenges who live in the Norwood area.  

Programs and services include:

CCRC Peterborough is a charitable, non-profit, community-based agency, accredited organization. CCRC helps people strengthen their lives and promotes community well-being. They do this through services that offer counselling, support and resources to assist with personal well-being, credit and financial management, access to housing and connection with the community.

Employment Planning and Counselling Peterborough is a not-for-profit, charitable organization that aims to provide superior career development and employment related programs and services. Employment Planning and Counselling is still offering outreach within the community.

Peterborough County Hubs have been established for agencies that serve the City and County of Peterborough to have free office and meeting space to deliver social services and conduct outreach with rural residents and remote communities.

Agencies that wish use these Hubs need to complete the Registration Form and be in agreement with the details found in the Peterborough County Hubs User Manual

Peterborough Public Health is shaped by our social, economic and physical environments, as well as by our personal choices.  Through community programs and by developing better health policies, Peterborough Public Health works to improve the living conditions of those in need for the benefit of all.  We serve residents throughout the City and County of Peterborough and offer a wide range of programs and services ranging from healthy eating workshops, poverty reduction initiatives, and oral health clinics to controlling infectious disease outbreaks, water safety and sexual health clinic services.

  • Child care information and support 
  • Space available for use by community organizations

If you qualify, Ontario Works can provide you with:

  • Financial assistance to help you cover the costs of food and housing
  • Employment assistance to help you prepare for and find a job
